Read Instagram profiles, posts and reels
Instagram looks into public accounts from your chats. It reads public posts and reels from a profile or a link, finds profiles by search, and shows a profile's bio, follower and post counts and latest posts, without your own Instagram account.
Needs a SurfSense license. See SurfSense plugins to connect it.
Tools
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
scrape | Reads posts or reels from profiles, or single posts and reels by link. It can keep only posts newer than a date and leave out pinned posts. |
details | Reads a profile's details: bio, follower and post counts, link and latest posts. Given keywords instead of profiles, it finds matching profiles first. |
Example prompts
- "@instagram What has @natgeo posted this week? List each post with its caption."
- "Compare the follower counts and bios of these three accounts: …"
- "Find Instagram profiles of specialty coffee roasters in Berlin."
- "Read this reel's caption and tell me what product it promotes: https://www.instagram.com/reel/…"
Add from the web
In + › Add from the web…:
- A post or reel link becomes one source with its caption and details.
- A profile link opens as a list of its latest posts, and a profile's
/reels/link as its latest reels. - Search Instagram itself: pick Instagram in the Search on menu under the box. It finds profiles. Each profile then opens as a list.
Short links, such as instagr.am/… or share links, can't be added. Open them in your browser and copy the full link instead.
Limits
- What a logged-out visitor sees. A profile shows only its latest 12 posts or 12 reels, and posts come without their comments.
- No hashtags or places. Instagram puts those behind a login.
- Finding profiles goes through Google, so it can be slower than reading a profile you name.
- Video links expire. A video's address is only valid for hours to days.
